The beaches of the southern part are connected to the very long beach without “Bagni” that is found southwards towards Marina di Grosseto.
Lungomare di Levante is within walking distance of the main parking spots, and is also good with providing those with limited mobility access to the beach.
The beach has private sections and public sections much like the North beaches, with access ramps. There are many beach bagni with life guards on duty and restaurants and bars in place.
Parking for the southern beach areas is more limited close to the beach, the Pineta Sud parking is the best idea early in the morning, which is a paid for public parking. It is worth noting that weekly parking permits can be purchased from the tourism office in the centre of Castiglione, which offer a discount on parking fees.
Pineta Sud Parking.
There are two other areas for parking close by to the South beach area,
Via Sicilia has a veery large parking which always has spaces has attendants in high summer and is paid for.
Via Maestrale has some limited parking right by the beach, but is often busy in high season.
Pineta Sud is the last beach bagni area and from here you have 10 km of free beach southwards which is incredibly beautiful, but there are no services here.
This is also the area for the windsurf and kite schools and other water sport activities, which can be practiced safely and an exit channel is present for those wishing to get into and out of the water whilst performing their sport.
