Natural Reserve Diaccia Botrona
The Diaccia Botrona Nature Reserve represents the last part of the marshes of Castiglione della Pescaia and covers an area of 3145 acres. The Diaccia Botrona Reserve is among the most important areas of Tuscany for wintering and migration of many species of waterfowl, waders, the elegant pink flamingos, and nesting of herons and the Marsh Harrier. The Diaccia Botrona Nature Reserve and the whole town of Castiglione are places of excellence, dedicated to biodiversity and sustainable tourism; a fine combination of nature, history and culture.
